Joining GO FAIR

In a joint position paper, Germany and the Netherlands proposed to support the GO FAIR initiative as a promising approach towards establishing the European Open Science Cloud.

The focus is to involve all research disciplines and Member States in order to make research data across Europe findable, accessible, interoperable and reusable (FAIR).

Against this backdrop, the first GO FAIR community workshop will be held in Göttingen on October 4th, 2017, organised by ZBW – Leibniz Information Centre for Economics.

With the goal to establish a German GO FAIR network, research communities, data scientists, infrastructure providers, policy makers, and other important stakeholders engaged in research data management are welcome to participate and contribute. GO FAIR is completely open-to-all and the broad involvement of actors from different fields is highly desirable.

The workshop is dedicated to present the GO FAIR initiative to a wide audience and its international support and coordination office, the cooperation with the Netherlands as well as within Europe, and the selection of first implementation networks initiated in Germany.
