Etwa so wie die drei Angestellten der <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.mcpherson.edu\/library\/\" target=\"_blanK\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bibliothek des Pherson Colleges<\/a> in Kansas, die (wie viele andere Bibliotheken auch) nach neuen Wegen sucht, um mehr Aufmerksamkeit auf sich zu lenken.<\/p>\n<p>Das Ergebnis?  Ein <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.mcpherson.edu\/library\/2011\/03\/our-zombie-guide-is-finished\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Comic<\/a> (<a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.mcpherson.edu\/library\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/Library-of-the-Living-Dead-Online-Edition.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">PDF<\/a>).<br \/>\nSein Inhalt? Eine todsichere Kombination von Bibliotheken\u2026 und Zombies. <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Der Grundgedanke war es, einen unterhaltsamen Leitfaden f\u00fcr die Benutzung der Bibliothek zu entwickeln. Urspr\u00fcnglich dachte das Team dabei an einen Film, doch diese Idee wurde angesichts der zu hohen Kosten schnell verworfen. So wurde es am Ende ein Comic mit dem Titel &#8220;Library if the Living Dead&#8221; \u2013 23 Seiten ist das Heft schwer und zudem vollgepackt mit praktischen Informationen zu den Diensten der Bibliothek. Wo finde ich welche Literatur? Wie benutze ich den Katalog und wie packe ich eigentlich eine richtige Recherche an?<\/p>\n<p>Ich zitiere aus dem Vorwort:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Even small libraries can be confusing for students. Miller Library developed this graphic novel guide to our library resources in an effort to connect with students in an interesting and unique way. Sure, lectures on databases and interlibrary loans are important and can provide in-depth information. But let&#8217;s face it; we all have tons of information shooting at us from all directions, all the time. Why pay attention to what the librarian is saying when you can just Google something? Well, because Googling something only scratches the surface. Understanding how to best sift through and use massive amounts of information that bombard us is what librarians do. <em>Librarians know how to find stuff. Important stuff.<\/em>\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Die Bibliothek hat rund 1.000 Dollar (700 Euro) in den Comic investiert, wobei der Betrag auch den Druck von 200 Exemplaren abdeckte. Viel lohnender war aber die Entscheidung, die Bildergeschichte online verf\u00fcgbar zu machen.
